David Bole will present an introduction to Tibetan Buddhist meditation practices that will include instruction in Shamata (Tranquility meditation) and walking meditation. David was granted the title "Lama" (teacher) by Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, Abbott of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra, Tibetan Buddhist Monastery in Woodstock, New York, after completing a traditional three-year and three-month retreat in that lineage. David is a licensed Acupuncture Physician, earned a doctorate in psychology, and teaches meditation, Tai Chi, and seminars designed to enhance awareness and health. Pamela Lear will lead meditation in the vipassana tradition. Pamela is a retired business woman and meditation teacher. She was first introduced to meditation by Ram Dass in 1974. Her main teacher is Joseph Goldstein. She lives in Gainesville with her husband of 33 years and her daughter.

Bill Alexander is the author of “Cool Water: Alcoholism, Mindfulness and Ordinary Recovery”, “Still Waters: Sobriety, Atonement and Unfolding Enlightenment” and the forthcoming “My Name Is Bill And I’m Getting Old”. He was ordained by Vietnamese Zen masterThich Nhat Hanh as a member of the core community of the Tiep Hien Order of Zen Buddhism in 1995 and was given the Dharma name of True Precious Nature. He received the precepts of the Buddha Way in the Soto Zen lineage from Abbot John Daido Loori in 1994. He is a meditation teacher, adventure traveler and has made his home in Gainesville since 2002.

Terry Muir, born in Texas and raised in Seattle,  graduated from the Northwest School in 1983 and later attended the Eastman School of Music, followed by several years of
intensive study with the eminent Russian cellist Raya Garbousova. Muir has
founded, directed, managed and performed with chamber music series and
festivals in Seattle, Boise and Austin. He has been a frequent soloist
with orchestras and a guest artist on chamber music series throughout
the country, as well as a substitute cellist with the Seattle Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Austin Symphony and Boise Philharmonic. Muir has performed and toured with such acts as The Creative Opportunity Orchestra, Elton John, Sheryl Crow, Pavarotti, Andrea Boccelli, The Stars of the San Francisco Ballet and Billy Joel.
